LOCATION:

Surrey is located at the scenic entrance to the Fraser Valley and is BC’s second largest city with a culturally diverse population of 460,000. At the present rate of growth, the population will surpass that of Vancouver in 15 – 30 years. The city is well provided with impressive performance locations including the Surrey Arts Centre, Chandos Pattison Auditorium and Bell Performing Arts Centre. Choral activity is vibrant with eight BCCF member choirs.

EVENTS:

All rehearsal and workshop events, Friday evening reception, BCCF AGM and the Sunday concert take place at Pacific Academy at 10238 168 Street north of Highway 1.  There is plenty of free parking at the Academy.  See www.pacificacademy.net.  The Chorfest 2012 Banquet will be held at the Sheraton Vancouver Guildford Hotel, 4 Km southwest of the Academy at 104 Ave and 153 Street.

TRAVEL:

By car: from Vancouver or Hope on the Trans Canada Highway 1, take exit 50.  Exit onto 104th Ave. going east to reach Pacific Academy (north of Hwy 1 - address above) and west to reach recommended hotels on 104th Ave. (south of Highway 1 - addresses below). Highway 1 is under construction so detours may be in effect in May.
By plane: from Abbotsford Int. Airport or Vancouver Int. Airport (each 40 km) – consult Chorfest 2012 website:  www.chorfest2012.org
